Director's Statement

Margot KushelThe University of California, San Francisco, Center for Vulnerable Populations (CVP) was founded in 2006 by Drs. Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo and Dean Schillinger with the goal of creating actionable research to increase health equity.

At CVP, we conduct rigorous research providing the evidence to drive changes in patient care, community, and policy. To achieve these aims, we focus on diverse topics, such as homelessness, food insecurity, immigrant health, and increasing diversity in the biomedical workforce. Partnering with the community, we're tackling some of the most challenging problems in society through discovery, innovation, policy, and advocacy.

As CVP enters its second decade, we feel fortunate to build on our success. Our talented and passionate faculty and staff know that we are at our best when we work together, support one another, and partner with the community to achieve our shared goal of health equity for all. We invite you to learn more about CVP and explore how you can partner with us to make sure everyone in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond has the opportunity to achieve their best health.
