Grace Taylor is a recent graduate from UC Berkeley’s undergraduate anthropology program. While there, they concentrated on critical medical anthropology while working under Dr. Colette Auerswald to conduct public health research on youth homelessness and permanent supportive housing in the Bay Area. Grace began their involvement in housing advocacy through activism and community work rooted in their own experiences with housing instability. They have worked with various grassroots organizations in the East Bay and beyond since 2016.

Grace was born and raised in Southern California, but has made a home in the East Bay since moving here at the age of 18. Their background in the service industry, including time spent at Berkeley’s Chez Panisse, has shaped a passionate relationship to food. Grace spends most of their free time hiking with their dog, sharing meals with friends, and working with their community in West Oakland.
