Alma Yates, MSW

Division Analyst, CVP, Benioff Homelessness and Housing Initiative

Alma Yates is the Center for Vulnerable Populations (CVP) Division Analyst and the Administrative Coordinator for the Benioff Homelessness and Housing Initiative Education Program. Alma graduated from the Columbia University School of Social Work, where she specialized in Social Enterprise Administration, International Social Welfare and Services for Immigrants and Refugees. She completed her undergraduate degree in Anthropology at Santa Clara University. Prior to starting her graduate studies at Columbia University in 2017, she worked at Stanford University and the UCSF AIDS Research Institute.

Alma was born and raised in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She is a former refugee who relocated to the US following the Bosnian War. She is an avid traveler and some of her favorite destinations are East Africa, Southeast Asia and Australia.
