Joanne Rodrigue received her Masters in Public Health from Loma Linda University with an emphasis in Research Epidemiology and BS in Psychobiology from La Sierra University. While she was a graduate student, she dedicated a lot of her time doing research on chronic diseases and participating in health promotion initiatives at the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System. There, she worked on a project centered on increasing awareness of heart disease risk among women veterans, and helping to build health education courses that were targeted specifically for them. The other project was using the VA data to fill gaps in the knowledge on Barrett’s esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma. Joanne is currently working as a research analyst on the CDC Chronic Kidney Disease Surveillance Project with Neil Powe and Tanushree Banerjee.
