Meeting the Needs of Low Health Literacy Patients in the Era of Precision Medicine: A Pilot Intervention to Improve Patient-Provider Communication in Genetic Counseling. A Presentation by: Galen Joseph, PhD. Genomic literacy is necessary to realize the promise of Genomic Medicine, particularly in the context of efforts to increase participation of diverse populations in genomics research and clinical practice. This presentation will describe a pilot intervention to improve oral communication between genetic counselors (GCs) and their limited health literacy (LHL) patients. A version of this intervention is now being tested in an exome sequencing study that is part of the Clinical Sequencing Evidence-Generating Research (CSER) consortium. Join the web meeting via Zoom.
