Roy Cherian, MHS
Roy joined the Center for Vulnerable Populations in 2015. He holds a Masters in Health Science at Johns Hopkins University and a BA in Anthropology from New York University. As a graduate student, Roy deployed mixed-methods research strategies to study the intersection of substance abuse, mental illness and interpersonal violence among marginalized urban minorities by forming a partnership between the Baltimore City Health Department, Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Bloomberg School of Public Health. More broadly, Roy's work focuses on urban health inequities and strives to attenuate poor health outcomes and disparities across gender, age, race/ethnicity, and class through contextualized and community-based research.
