Health Information Technology and the Safety Net

We believe that health information technology can transform health for vulnerable populations. Our projects study how technology can help:

  • Strengthen relationships between patients and providers at visits and between visits
  • Facilitate engagement with the healthcare system using the online patient portal
  • Lower language and literacy barriers in healthcare
  • Enhance electronic communication between patients and providers
  • Improve the quality of outpatient care

This program is directed by Dr. Urmimala Sarkar and managed by Gato Gourley.
