Mar 14, 2016 CVP Director - Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo, MD, PhD, MAS was just announced as the new Chair for the United States Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF)

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (Task Force) announced the appointment of Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo, Ph.D., M.D., M.A.S., as chair of the Task Force and Susan J. Curry, Ph.D., as vice chair of the Task Force. Dr. Bibbins-Domingo and Dr. Curry were appointed to these positions by the director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Dr. Bibbins-Domingo will assume the role of chair from Albert L. Siu, M.D., M.S.P.H., who will now serve as the immediate past chair.

Created in 1984, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force is an independent, volunteer panel of national experts in prevention and evidence-based medicine. The Task Force works to improve the health of all Americans by making evidence-based recommendations about clinical preventive services such as screenings, counseling services, and preventive medications. All recommendations are published on the Task Force’s Web site and/or in a peer-reviewed journal.
